Blogger Spotlight: Dress up for Armageddon

As a blogger my greatest inspiration comes from other bloggers. For example everytime I go online I go straight to my history for a list of my favourite blogs. Top of that list is Dress up for Armageddon.
Flaviana Boni’s Dress up for Armageddon is one of my favourite blogs because she has amazing personal style. She is always unique but still on trend. She is not afraid to mix colour and prints. Flaviana also tracks the trends of each season and has a DIY section where she creates fashion pieces.
Flaviana has kindly answered some questions for Hunting in Heels. I would like to thank her for her time and her inspiring words.
Can you describe your style?
It is a style everyone can wear, but I always look to enhance it adding a unique touch and make it more quirky. Then everyday varies depending on the season, in winter for example I am very street; jeans, oversized jumpers, combat boots and for the most part dark colours. While  in summer I have a more refined style, my clothes are always changing, shirts and Oxfords, but above all lots of colour !

Do you think there is a particular Italian style?
Italy is the home of fashion, unfortunately, however, we are still stuck in old, run-of-the-mill styles and there is a lack of appreciation for having a style a bit eccentric and also regarding the trends, here they are decisively later than in other places in Europe.
When you wake up in the morning, do you have a particular way for deciding what to wear?
When I have to get dressed, I always start with the colour, that on that particular day, I want to wear and from there I create my look.
I like your style because you mix High fashion with brands like H&M and Zara, is this something important for you? If it were up to me I would wear only high fashion, but only because designers create that special something, I always look to add to my look. Unfortunately, for how much the low cost brands  look to emulate the trends of every season, I am never able to find something extremely different, so obviously I look to mix more expensive brands and less expensive brands. Maybe a simple dress from Zara and shoes that are different from a particular label.
Your blog. When did you decide to create a blog? Would you like to give any advice to other bloggers that would like to have a blog as acclaimed as yours?
I started my blog two years ago without any pretense and without knowing that it would bring me to a point where I receive clothing from fashion labels and to be invited to events. Still today I don’t have any particular interest in these things. More than anything else I want to inspire my readers. I don’t think there is any particular  advice to give , it depends on what you want to achieve. If it’s numbers or you want readers instead, its more or less important that they are interested, really interested in what your doing and that they follow you aside from just ‘following to follow each other’. After all this, it makes me say that you need to distinguish yourself from the masses with a real style and with real personality, something that everyone could wear (otherwise is useless to follow someone from whom it is impossible to get inspiration) but is at the same time sought after and unsual, something that makes people say “ wow, I never thought of that !”

È sempre unica ma sempre all’ultima moda.
Secondo te c'è uno stile italiano in particolare?

Designer Spotlight: Stella McCartney

Beyonce

Liv Tyler

Alexa Chung

Stella McCartney is champion for British style and the modern day woman. She makes effortless and chic clothing for a woman like herself. A woman who juggles a career and family while still looking her best.
With a superstar father and a privileged background one could quickly assume that she has risen to to the top on her father's coattails and THAT famous name. However, aside from having Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell modelling at her graduate show, Stella is essential a self made woman. She first gained critical acclaim for her work at Chloe and then went on to launch her own extremely successful label.
The Stella style is one that combines comfort with exceptional tailoring and Stella is famous for her well cut blazers and Tuxedo jackets. Other favourites include her jumpsuits and lingerie influences.

This season it is fair to say her Spring/Summer 2012 collection is one of the favourites with her wave dress taking its place along the must haves for the season.
She has also just designed the British Olympic kit, in a collaboration with Adidas.

Stella McCartney is fast becoming a cult brand and a must have in every modern woman's wardrobe. A woman who designs for women. Stella says "I champion women. I think they are impressive..the journey of being a woman is interesting; I'm on that journey with everyone else." (Vogue Australia April 2012)

What are your thoughts on McCartney's style?
That's all for now,

Get Printed !

L-R Alexander Wang, RiverIsland,See by Chloe,Miu Miu,Motel, Versus, Rag & Bone,House of Holland

The printed pant ! A key look of Spring/Summer 2012. If, like me, you haven't been brave enough to go for the floral, tropical prints, opt for a more subtle animal print in a darker colour. I loved these jeans when I first saw them. They just screamed Isabel Marant, but without the hefty price tag. I attempted French chic by keeping it simple and pairing it with my trusty white t-shirt and sturdy black boots. For night I love it with my sheer, button up, black shirt, with leather collar and cuffs.
The most wanted pair seems to be Rag & Bone's wild blue print. See Australian blogger Jessica Stein from Tuula. Now you know they're cool if she is wearing them !
How are you wearing your printed trousers? Have you been brave enough??
Thats all for now,

It's that time of the year, when fashion meets art and draws all of Hollywood and fashion's most stylish people together. This year, you were no one unless you were in Prada. Celebs from Eva Mendes to Kate Bosworth all worked the Prada dress. Miuccia must have had some work on her hands in the lead up to the event. Classically Prada, all of the dresses were unique and different. Not many other labels could have so many of the same designer at one event, but Queen Miuccia can !
Other winners included Coco Rocha in a vintage Givenchy suit, originally wore by Elizabeth Taylor and Elizabeth Banks wearing an eye catching Mary Katrantzou creation. Two Topshop dresses were in the mix, holding their own with all the Haute Couture of the evening.

Trends included feathers as seen on Beyonce and metallic was choice of the evening. Plunging necklines and thigh/hip splits were also popular with everyone showing a little skin. A lot of celebs were sporting a dark lip, including Camille Belle. I am loving this look. I want to try it out for myself. Part grunge part glamour.
All in all I think there were more gos than nos, even Kristen Stewart managed to crack a smile in Balenciaga, now that is a win !
Thats all for now,
