Blogger Inspiration: Angela Scanlon

It has been a while that I have wanted to create a blog roll, of all my favourite bloggers. When I am fashion prowling on-line, I always come across some great new bloggers/fashion inspiration sites. One leads me to another and another and before I know it, I have forgotten where I started. For this reason I want to take the time to start building a list of my favourite blogs/websites, where I actually read the content, rather than just perve on the pictures.

I am starting with Irish blogger, TV presenter, fashion writer and stylist Angela Scanlon. Now I know us Irish have a tendency of promoting each other and sticking together, as few in numbers we may be, but I have to say, Angela being Irish, is only a bonus for me. Regardless of nationality, this girl has style !

Angela has been dubbed the new Alexa Chung, which is a huge compliment obviously ! But what does this mean ? Well from watching some of the videos featured on her site, I guess it means she was born with that effortless style, that some of us take hours to achieve, and that she has personality. She has bucket loads of charisma, is funny and personable. The more and more I read her posts, I think, "Hey Angela, want to be best friends ? '" Best friends meaning I will have full access to your closet and those matching patterned suit combos, you so easily pull off !

One of my favourite features of her website is called 'Rants'. Here she posts some inspiring fashion images, along with 'Rants' on her daily life happenings. One of my favourite recent posts, features a description on a flight with a well known low cost airline. I felt I was reading a facebook mail from a close friend, rather than the post of a complete stranger! It was really hilarious and I could completely relate to it.

As an occasional blogger (with good intentions to improve) I am inspired most by people who are brave, so much so that they open up their world to others. I am trying to be more brave, with fashion choices and even life choices, in general. So what I am taking from Angela and her site is, be more BRAVE, in both fashion choices and life choices. Laugh about life more, after all quote " If you picked the wrong shoes you're not going to die !" Check out the video below from My Daily Fashion Priest and her interview with them.

That's all for now !
Check out Angela's website now !

Instagram photos @huntinginheels

I am currently obsessed with Instagram, meaning I have begun to neglect many human basics , including general conversation with actual humans, much to my boyfriend's annoyance.
I love that you can follow celebrities and fashion houses, while also discovering some new fashionistas.
You can now follow me on Instagram for daily photo posts on fashion and daily life in Rome ! Follow me a @huntinginheels
I will be posting some if my favorite pics here anyways :)
Today we have a quick glance at an outfit with neon heels, a stylish red Beatle on the streets of Rome, the shadow of a bar sign and a Louis Vuitton seat cover on a motorbike.

Let me know if you're on Instagram or who you're following ?
That's all for now,

Outfit post: Take a walk on the wild side

Hello all !

Here is a new outfit post for your fashion, peeping pleasure ! Red snake print jeans, paired with my (worn to death) Zara faux leather, bottle green top. My black evening coat is protecting me from the chill of an early spring evening, with a classic black scarf, for extra protection !
The sparkly black boots, are a mega steal from the Zara winter sale ! Oh how I love them !
My Kenneth Lane Tiger necklace, making another appearance on the blog. It's so hard to photograph this one. The light just bounces off it ! A successful photo of this one, is still on my list of life challenges.

Trying to post more regularly now, as I seem to have a bit more time on my hands. My aim is to do more outfit posts, as I know that's what I like most about other blogs.

You can hype the look on lookbook below:

That's all for now,

See you back here SOON !

Giardino degli Aranci, Rome

Here is an outfit post, with some photos I took earlier in the year. The days were much colder, so I am all wrapped up in my Zara parka and Deer printed sweater from Topshop. I am also sporting my Massimo Dutti burgandy boots. I found these, while looking for a winter coat, back in October. Of course I always find everything else, other than what I was originally shopping for. I loved these boots as they reminded me of a Mod style, plus I loved the colour.

I have also included some photos of the Giardino degli Aranci (Orange Gardens) on Aventine Hill, in Rome. One of the main features of this area is being able to look through the famous keyhole, where you can see the dome of St Paul's Basilica. My camera couldn't get a great picture through the keyhole, but it is a must visit for a trip to Rome.

That's all for now,
I hope to post again soon,

Sunday Inspiration: Leanne Woodfull

All photos taken from Thunder + Threads

Usually when I do an inspiration post, it  is fashion related. It's either admiration for a fantastic wardrobe, way beyond any means of my own or just great natural style, that is effortless. However my inspiration tonight is for a girl who has of course an envious sense of style but also an openness, that I have rarely seen before.

As I am sure most other bloggers do, I spend quite a lot of time checking out blogs, lookbook, vlogs and all the fashion websites. I subscribe on facebook to many personal fashion pages, sometimes reluctantly, knowing I am about to receive a new notification ever 5mins on something I "NEED" to see.
It has gotten to the point where I have had to hide certain pages to avoid throwing my phone across the room, at the beep of another new post. However there are a select view I love to see pop up, and I click on the link straight away, to see whats new.

One such blogger is Leanne Woodfull from Thunder + Threads. Her retro style fused with grungy 90's influence (my own opinion) is definitely one I take time to read. She does some great beauty posts, which are much appreciated, because as much as I love fashion I fall short when it comes to the beauty side of things.

She does fashion, beauty and personal vlogs on youtube where she lets you into her world. She is not afraid to admit any fears she has and openly shares all her thoughts and feelings. This is amazingly brave of her ! I could never attempt to do a vlog, there is something so secure about being able to hide behind a blog post.

I have just finished watching her latest post, where she will be getting surgery for an underbite. Watching the video I was so moved by how open she was about her experience and impressed at her willingness to share her experience, in order to help others, who may be suffering like her.

Back in June of last year, when I first discovered her blog, I asked Leanne to answer a few questions for me. I never posted these because I got caught up in my move back to Europe from Australia, and as we know I am very neglectful of this little blog!

However I thought I would post them now, so you can find out a little more information on Leanne before you go check out her blog, if you haven't already.

As I said I don't always read the posts of other bloggers, just look at the pictures, as they say. However, Leanne is someone who keeps it real and incredibly stylish at the same time.So to finish up I would like to wish Leanne all the best with her surgery and afterwards. I am looking forward to all her future blog posts.

Check out the interview below and click here for a link to Thunder + Threads

1. Firstly, tell us more about you and your blog? Who are you and where do you come from?

I'm Leanne Woodfull, from Dublin, Ireland. I started my blog THUNDER + THREADS in 2009, and now run a popular Youtube channel in conjunction with it.

2. When did you start blogging and why?

I started blogging in 2009, after reading an article in a magazine about the rise of bloggers. I felt I had a lot to express with regards to fashion, and loved the idea of showing the world my style and inspirations. Over the last few years, my blog has turned into a fashion and beauty blog though, as my interest in makeup has grown massively!

3. What is your fashion "can't live without" piece in your wardrobe?

My Topshop leather jacket, I over-wear it to death but it goes with everything and anything!

4. Have you always had an interest in fashion?

Yes, definitely. I used to play dress-up in my Nana's house as a toddler, and have collected magazines since I was quote young also. It's always amazed me.

5. What inspires you?

Japanese street style, Old Hollywood, people watching, art, nature, books, film.. everything!

6. What is your favourite topic to blog about?

I love writing outfit posts, showcasing my own person style and reading the feedback I get from it!

7. What is the future for Thunder + Threads?
Hopefully it grows bigger and bigger, in the future I hope to open an online store and expand the blog to a website. Watch this space!
